Young Writers

Students writing at the NVWP Student Summer Institute

The NVWP Young Writers program is designed to help student writers in the Northern Virginia area improve their comfort and skill in various genres of writing. We offer one-day workshops in the fall and spring and a two-week “institute” in the summer.

One-Day Workshops
NVWP offers one-day student workshops at George Mason University and in the Shenandoah Valley in the Fall and Spring of each academic year. Students work with Teacher/Consultants on a wide range of writing, including fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and scripts. We also offer workshops on SAT preparation and writing college entrance essays.  Fall workshops are open to students in grades 5-12; Spring workshops are open to students in grades 4-12.  Read more …
