One-Day Workshop

The Northern Virginia Writing Project has scheduled one-day workshops where students get to choose the sessions they would like to attend. We welcome interested students and motivated writers in grades 5-12 in Fall, and 4-12 in Spring.

Workshops are run by NVWP Teacher/Consultants, some of the best teachers in Northern Virginia. Class size is small, with a ratio of twelve students to one Teacher/Consultant. The workshop runs from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Registration for the Fall 2008 Young Writers’ Workshops is now open. Click here for detailed information and registration options.

Please note: Online registration for the November 8 Young Writers’ Workshop is now closed.

Past workshop topics have included:

  • Poetry
  • Fiction
  • Writing From Personal Experience
  • Words as Gifts

  • Scriptwriting
  • Art & Nature Writing

Students in grades 10-12 may choose to take College Application Essay Writing, an intensive workshop designed to help them write truly effective college application essays.
